About John Abdalla

JohnAbdalla moved to Greenville from Scranton, PA at the age of 15. He graduated from Greenville High School before earning a BS degree from USC-Upstate.

In 1988, John earned his JD degree from the University of South Carolina Law School.

His wide ranging and invaluable experience as an attorney began with two years service with DSS, working primarily on child support issues.

He then took his talents to the 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office where for six years he served as a prosecutor.

Putting to use his experience as a prosecutor, John next spent four years working for the Spartanburg Public Defenders Office.

In 2001, John joined the Greenville County Public Defenders Office, where he spent five years.

Having seen both sides as a prosecutor and a public defender, John entered private practice on July 1, 2006 as a defense attorney.

Prior to entering his law career, John spent 12 years as a counselor, providing individual, family, and group counseling. It was this experience that led him to a career as an attorney. He spent three years counseling in the prison system. He spent the next nine years providing counseling services through the Pre-Trial Intervention program of the Solicitors Office.
